Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Mrs Fidge is the class teacher and Mrs Swaine is the teaching assistant. On this page, you will find information about Year 4 news, curriculum information, photos to capture our learning and much more...

Thank you for a brilliant first half-term. Our trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace was a real success; brilliant questions, brilliant behaviour and brilliant attitudes throughout the day. You took such care with your Roman chariots, supporting each other to share resources and provide quality feedback. Next half-term, we will have a geography focus with our topic Extreme Earth. Plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning; remember those plastic bottles to make our volcanoes! In the meantime, have a lovely, well-deserved half-term. Keep reading! Keep practising those times tables!

Well done, Year 4!

Talk For Writing

As a Talk 4 Writing school, we place emphasis on children learning to orally retell different types of texts using story maps and actions. Throughout the year, children will learn approximately 9-12 model texts. We ask all parents to support children with learning these texts at home orally, so that children can use them to create their own versions.

The table below highlights the text types and texts that we are learning in Year 4. The table will be updated and added to throughout the year. Please download the texts and story maps and practise retelling them.  Aim to retell the texts with actions and expression!
