Stationery - In order to minimise multiple use of equipment, it would be great if you could provide your child with a pencil case containing the following equipment:
It would be helpful if the pencil case is relatively small as there will be limited space on tables and in trays.
If you are unable to supply this equipment, we will provide this as required.
P.E. - Children in Class 6 will need their PE kits on Monday and Tuesday. In line with our Covid-19 Risk Assessment, in order to reduce increased congestion when changing, children may come to school on those days in their PE kit. This should consist of jogging bottoms, shorts, house coloured T-shirt, jumper and trainers.
Spellings - Every Monday, your child will be taught a new spelling rule to practise during the week, ready for a spelling test on the Friday. Please spend time at home practising these spellings using "look, say, cover, write, check" in the Spelling Homework Booklet, as well as discussing the spelling rule. Please ensure that Homework Books are kept in school bags. You can also log on to Spelling Shed by visiting https://play.edshed.com

During the year, we will use a range of texts to develop our reading skills. The texts we will use are detailed below and will be updated throughout the year.
As a school, we place emphasis on teaching Maths using a Maths Mastery approach. We place emphasis on children learning to develop their fluency, reasoning and problem solving skills. We use Maths No Problem Textbooks and Workbooks in school. to find out more visit https://mathsnoproblem.com/en/parent-videos/ to watch parent videos about how maths is taught at St Luke's.
The table below highlights the textbook and chapters we are learning in Year 6.
If you wish to purchase a copy of the Textbooks (A and B) or Wokbooks (A and B) for use at home, and also to find out more about how maths in taught in school, these are available to order at http://mathsnoproblem.co.uk/mathematics/primary-key-stage1-and-key-stage-2/maths-no-problem.html
We ask all parents to support children with learning their number bonds and times tables at home; this is key to children being successful as mathematicians.
